Black Eyes Update 17: Thank You!/Cough Reissue incoming/Ghost Canyon Fest/Stay Tuned for more
Lots of stuff going on...
Hello friends,
Welcome back to Speaking in Tongues, a monthly newsletter / interview series from Black Eyes that extends the thread we started with our zine of the same name. If you haven’t checked it out, you can find it here.
In this edition, we offer you thanks, news of the Cough reissue, link to tix to see us in Denver in August, and a vague tease about exciting shit to come.
Thank You
Thanks so much to all of you who came to see us play in Philly, Brooklyn, and Kingston in March. It was great to share our new songs with you, to see so many friends, and to share the space with the queer and trans advocacy groups that joined us.
On that last note, thanks also to all of you who purchased one of our benefit Ts. We were able to raise $2,000 for SMYAL, a D.C. organization that has long provided direct support and advocacy training to queer youth, as well as education and advocacy training for schools and other institutions that work with queer youth. If you are looking for an organization to support directly, without the middle step of commerce, we can think of no better outfit. Click the link above to donate.
If you’d still like to support SMYAL via the benefit t-shirt, we’ve still got a handful of those left as well.
Cough is Back in Print
Dischord has remastered and reissued our second album Cough, and you can pick it up here. While you’re there, we’ve also got a few hoodies leftover from our March run.
Next Up: Ghost Canyon Fest in August
Our next performance will be in Denver as part of the Ghost Canyon Fest. Weekend passes are available now at the link below. Single day passes will be coming soon. More details about the lineup can be found here.
That’s all for now.
With love,
Dan, Daniel, Hugh, Jacob, Mike
Gosh, I need to pick up that Cough reissue! I think I’m still not over hearing it for the first time like 15-years-ago.
